The boys love playing games as a family. The only problem that we’ve found is that some games are still a little too difficult for Brody to play on his own and he hates having a teammate. When Bejeweled Frenzy arrived Brody was pretty excited because he was pretty sure he could play all by himself. The game arrived after we had packed up most of the boys’ toys and games for our move. All three boys couldn’t wait to give Bejeweled Frenzy a try so they could compare it to the electronic version that they’re used to playing. The boys loved the card game just as much as the electronic version, maybe even a little more. The thought it was really cool that they could collect the boost gems once they matched three gems on consecutive cards. After two rounds as a family, Zack and I sat out and let the boys play. I loved watching Brody beat his brothers without any help!! Bejeweled Frenzy is still the boys turn to game when it comes time to play games as a family!
Bejeweled Frenzy is available for approximately $14.99 online and in stores like Target, Wal-Mart and Toy’s R Us. The games comes in a handy storage case with 84 cards and 7 boost gems. The game is played by collapsing matching cards and collecting Boost Gems. Once you’re out of cards, each player add up their card stack and Boost Gems. The player with the highest score wins! It’s recommended for 2-4 players ages 8 and up. Brody is only 6 and got the hang of it pretty quickly so I’d say go ahead and let your younger ones give it a try. Also we played as a family of 5 and just changed how we laid out the cards and it worked perfectly! Bejeweled Frenzy also comes with a link to redeem for Rare Gems to be used in the Bejeweled Blitz online games.
I was provided with a sample of Bejeweled Frenzy for the purpose of this review. No monetary compensation was received. All opinions are 100% my own.
