What I want for Christmas

verabradleyGlenna

Every year my family gets so frustrated with me around Christmas and my birthday. Why? Because they always get the answer of "I don't know", when they ask what I want. I swear one of these days someone is going to lose it on me when I say " You know what I like so just surprise me". This year I'm going to attempt to make them happy by just listing a few things that I'd love to receive. 1. A beautiful Vera Bradley Glenna or Mailbag purse in Canterberry Magenta.  I fell in love with this color the moment I saw it!     2. This beautiful Belle camera bag from Epiphanie. The one I have now is nice but it doesn't have  easily accessible pockets for my phone and keys.  It also doesn’t have much room for my wallet or other must have items … [Read more...]

So proud of my boys

To me Christmas is about so much more than the gifts.  The boys usually only care about the gifts.  This year thought we had a few surprises.   The surprises were amazing and really made Zack and I realize that we are doing a great job raising our boys.  Most importantly they got along all day!! The fist thing was in the morning when Zack's parents came over to celebrate with us.   Brody was given a Nintendo dsi game that he had been wanting.   When he mentioned that he didn't have a Nintendo it was suggested that he could play it on one of brothers Nintendos.  Us adults got to talking and looked over to realize that Quentin wasn't playing on his Nintendo.   He had just received a new game so we … [Read more...]

Hell is freezing over

Brody

This morning Brody and I were watching tv together and almost every commercial break he would comment on something he wanted for Christmas.   We're not talking about a third of the inventory at Toy R Us either. The item he was begging for the most was a touch screen computer.    After an hour of so of him asking for the same thing over and over and not liking being told no I thought I'd take a new approach. Brody- Hey Mom, can I have the touchscreen computer for Christmas? Me- Honey, we've already talked about this and the answer is the same. Brody- But mom.  *Insert puppy dog eyes here with lost of hugs and kisses. Me-  You have a netbook and that is all you really need.  You're only 4!   Mommy doesn't even have her own desktop … [Read more...]

Apple Cinnamon Ornaments

Apple Cinnamon Ornaments

Every year I try to come up with new crafts for the boys to make.  One of their favorite crafts happens to be apple cinnamon ornaments.   They are so easy to make and smell wonderful. What you need: Applesauce Cinnamon Cookie cutters Rolling pin Straw Ribbon Glue, glitter and any other items to decorate with    In a mixing bowl combine applesauce and cinnamon. I started with the cinnamon and slowly added the applesauce until it became the right consistency.   You want it to be thick like roll out sugar cookie dough. Next you need to roll the mixture out on a cinnamon covered surface.   Cut out the shapes using cookie cutters. Don't forget to poke a hole for your string to go through.  You can use a … [Read more...]

Recently I talked about the wonderful selection of holiday cards that Tiny Prints has to offer.   In that post I showed off the three designs that I liked the most.   Once the boys' school pictures came back and I took some time to play it was clear that the Naughty or Nice Blocks was the perfect card for my family.  I don't want to post them just yet as I want the family to be surprised when they see them.
